4th in Season Finale at Laguna Seca Testing went well for the number 36 Donorschoose.org KIA Optima, ending up fastest out of the 27 car field. After initially holding the top spot in qualifying too, Ben dropped to 3rd by the end of the 20 minute session, electing to run just 1 lap and save his tyres for the race.

As the 50 minute sprint race got underway, disaster struck, with Mark Wilkins in the Number 38 KIA Optima stalling at the start and being collected as the pack came by. Fortunately both drivers were unharmed, but this caused a lengthy full course yellow, with the British driver running in 3rd. As the race resumed Ben had good pace and was challenging the Porsche Cayman ahead of him. As the laps ticked by though the Kia racing driver began to lose front grip and dropped to 4th, a place he would maintain to the flag.

Ben was reasonably happy afterwards ďI was hoping to finish the year on the podium, but 4th was a reasonable result, and I think as good as we could have done today. Iím glad Mark is ok, as that was a big hit. Iíve been very lucky to work with Kia racing this year, and itís been a lot of fun. The Pirelli World Challenge is a great series and Iíve very much enjoyed racing over here in the States.Ē
