In order to support Ben's UK sponsors - IFF, EPS Estates and Property Services and Inland plc, Steve Hindle of Hyperion Motorsport kindly agreed to enter a Caterham C400 for him. A day-glow orange roll cage made the car easy to spot for his sponsors, though championship regulations meant he could not have his trademark number 84.

Testing was scheduled for Friday, but the first session was very wet and curtailed to 4 laps by red flags - and the second session was so wet it was cancelled. Qualifying was dry, so to finish second on the grid with no dry testing at all, was pleasing. Guy Harrington, second in the championship was on pole, and Ben's team-mate and championship leader Graham Fennymore was 3rd.

The first race was wet. A poor start dropped him to third, but he was in the lead by the first bend and never headed thereafter. He and Fennymore pulled out a huge gap on the rest of the field with Ben Denzille Butler a distant third and Harrington well over a minute behind.

The second race started badly, dropping to fourth from pole and struggling for pace in the first couple of laps. However by lap 4 the day-glow rollcage was up to 3rd past Denzille Butler with a good move at Brooklands, which was repeated on Harrington a couple of laps later. The front 3 cars then pulled clear of the rest of the field. As Ben and Harrington squabbled over second place Fennymore pulled out a bit of a gap, but that closed to nothing again as Fennymore started to lose pace in the later laps. To allow his team-mate, Fennymore, to clinch the championship, Ben held station in second for the last 5 laps, holding Harrington at bay.
