Another two lights-to-flag wins was a great result after some disappointing testing.

Budget limitations meant little testing on the Wednesday prior to the race - though pace seemed good, it was difficult to judge on old tyres in windy conditions. Friday practise didn't go well - only 5th in the morning, improving to 2nd in the afternoon. Friday practise is run on old tyres and Ben's weren't too good, so it was hoped that things would go better in qualifying next day.

So it proved on Saturday, thought qualifying times were very close. The Gawler Farm machinery car topped the list in race 1 qualifying by a mere .02 of a second ahead of Leanne Tander, and was beaten into second by Tim Macrow by a similar margin for race 2. Ben's closest championship rival Michael Trimble qualifying in third and fourth positions.

The two races followed a similar pattern, a good start and a couple of quick laps gave Ben a comfortable lead which he was able to gradually extend to the flag. In the first race the final gap was 6 seconds, but in the second Leanne Tander pressed hard once she had passed Trimble for second place, keeping the winning margin down to three seconds. Trimble finished second in the first race and fourth in the second, fastest laps in both races increasing the Team BRM car's championship lead by 18 points to 78.

"It's been a great weekend and the car has been terrific. The team have done a great job, yet again." said a euphoric Ben.
