Mid-Ohio After testing had gone well and the car felt good from the word go, the duo were looking forward to seeing how they would shape up in qualifying. As usual it was the young Brit who would qualify the car. After practice had gone so well, it was disappointing for the number 33 BMW to end up only 10th fastest at the end of the 15 minute session, in the 40 car strong field.

Eager to make amends for the poor qualifying, it was Ben who would start the 2.5 hour long race. It wasnít long before the Kinetic run BMW was storming through the field, quickly moving up to 7th, and then 3rd, as cars ahead pitted early. After one of many caution periods, the Northampton based driver sliced through to 2nd and immediately started hunting down the leader. As another full course yellow came to the pass, what could have proved to be a shrewd strategy call was made and the 33 BMW was brought in for the driver change, earlier than planned. Initially this looked to have been exactly the right call, as Jade led the race and was running in 6th with just 15 minutes to go. Unfortunately the safety car periods the team had been banking on to make it on fuel never came to pass, and a late splash and dash dropped them to 20th, ending a strong run.

Ben commented afterwards ďI was really disappointed after qualifying. We had a really good car all weekend and I just didnít quite get the best out of it on the new tyres. When 2 tenths covers 8 cars you canít afford to make a single mistake, and I know we could have ended up higher. The race went well; we had very good speed and were moving forward. We took a bit of a risk banking on a couple of extra safety periods to make it on fuel and it didnít quite pay off, but these things happen. The result didnít really reflect how we went and it was good for Jade to lead for a bit. Itís been great fun getting an opportunity to race in America this year and Iíve got to say a massive thank you to everyone at Kinetic for making that happen.Ē
