A Tough Jarama Weekend for The Defending Champions The weekend started off well enough for the duo in the number 32 Ginetta, with 2nd quickest time in the first practice and that then backed up with the fastest lap in 2nd free practice, it looked like it was going to be a good weekend.

Francisco did qualifying 1 and setting his fastest ever laps around the Madrid circuit, managed a very good 5th position. Next it was Benís turn, and at the end of a very tight session where 4 tenths separated the top 4, the young Briton was top of the time sheets on pole.

Unfortunately that was where the pairís weekend ended. Despite a tremendous effort from all the team at Escuela EspaŮola de Pilotos, an electrical problem at the end of qualifying 2 could not be traced and put the car out for the rest of the weekend, despite numerous attempts at replacing a lot of parts.

Ben was understandably disappointed with the weekend. ďThis has been a really frustrating weekend, to come all this way and not even race is really disappointing. Itís just one of those things and no one is to blame. Iíve been racing with the team for 3 years now and this is the first mechanical problem Iíve ever had, so we were due a bit of bad luck eventually. Itís obviously hurt our championship with zero points for the whole weekend, but Iím sure other people will have their own dramas throughout the year.Ē
