Tough Weekend in Brno

Ben's first visit to the Czech Republic racetrack proved to be a difficult weekend

Tough Weekend in Brno Neither Ben nor Robert Hissom had been to the track before, so the two 1 hour test sessions were more about learning the track than doing any major setup work.

Robert jumped in the car for session 1, and despite the limited track time managed 31st in the 40 car field. In the 2nd session it was Ben's turn. Unfortunately a slight engine problem was discovered between the 2 sessions, restricting him to just 2 proper flying laps whilst the engine was losing performance as well. The number 32 car eventually ended up a slightly disappointing 27th as time ran out.

As usual Robert started race 1, and made good progress before handing to the young British driver at mid distance. Increased pace and some good consistent laps saw them up to 19th by the flag.

Race 2 was over almost before it started. Some contact before turn 1 caused too much damage and affectively ended the number 32 cars race.

Ben was philosophical afterwards. "It's been a difficult weekend. We've struggled a little with setup and I haven't driven particularly well either. You have to go through these types of races though, especially when you are developing a car. You just have to make sure you learn from it as much as possible. Now I just can't wait for Nogaro to try and turn it around."
